Ava’s lessons

It’s just something about toddlers, they’re smart, loving, clumsy, silly, mean, pushy, walking balls of emotion. They’ve fined tuned their motor skills and probably have started to form their words. A toddler’s favorite word is No! and as we’ve all heard “Nobody tests your patience more than a toddler”.

Ava is a completely different child than Adrian, she’s strong willed, she’s fearless and she completely shocks me on a daily basis and wow, this girl has personality!

I admire her and truthfully, I’ve learned so many things from this child. So, I’m going to share some of these things with you:

1. So What?

So, what if you if you make a mistake, learn from it. It’ll only make you stronger and smarter as life goes on.

2. Try New Things.

How are you going to know what you like if you don’t try new things?

3. Be Fearless.

Take that jump, you just may surprise yourself.

4. It’s ok to Cry.

Crying is good for the soul, sometimes you just need to let it out.

5. Know how to Laugh at Yourself.

Stop taking everything so serious, it’s ok to laugh.

6. We all have Bad Days.

Listen bad days happen, but don’t dwell on them, tomorrow is a brighter day.

7. Speak up!

Be clear and concise, make sure your voice is heard.

8. Be Open.

The world is always changing and growing, be open to learning, else you’ll be left behind.

9. Share.

If you have something worth sharing, don’t hoard it. We can all eat.

10. Be Patient.

Sometimes we just need to be patient, sit back and wait to see what happens before making rash decisions.

Do you have a little person in your life? What have you learned from them?

I love that fact that Ava taught you to laugh at yourself. This speaks volumes for me because instead of being so upset of silly things. It’s okay to just laugh even if it’s at yourself.
